Deleting my account

  1. Go to Settings > Profile
  2. Scroll down to the Delete account section
  3. Click Delete account
  4. Enter your password to confirm
  5. Click Delete account again, in the confirmation dialog

If you’re the sole owner of a team that has other active members, Pliic won’t let you delete your account right away: you need to transfer ownership of that team to someone else first.

  1. Go to Settings > Members for the team (see Team members)
  2. Next to the person who will take over, use the Transfer ownership option
  3. Confirm the transfer invitation by email

The invited person has up to 7 days to accept. Only after they accept do you stop being the owner and can delete your account normally. Teams where you’re the only member don’t have this restriction, they get deleted along with your account.

Your account doesn’t disappear instantly. It enters a 30-day grace window (the same applies to any team you solely own). During that window:

  • You can’t sign in to the dashboard normally anymore
  • Your data stays stored, just marked for deletion
  • At the end of the 30 days, an automatic process permanently erases everything, with no way back

Retention windows and what gets erased are detailed in Privacy & data retention.

If you change your mind (reactivating your account)

Section titled “If you change your mind (reactivating your account)”

While you’re still within the 30-day window, just try signing in again with your email and password. Pliic recognizes the account is scheduled for deletion and shows the Reactivate your account screen, with the number of days remaining.

Click Reactivate my account and you’re done: your account and any teams that were deleted along with it come back exactly as they were, with all data intact.

Once the 30-day window has passed, the deletion has already been made permanent and reactivation is no longer possible.
