Public suggestion board

The public board shows the suggestion roadmap of one of your team’s apps on its own page, styled with your team’s look — it’s no longer the Pliic website. Anyone can browse the board without logging in. To vote, comment, or suggest, visitors sign in with their email.

The board always shows suggestions from a single app — the same app that receives suggestions submitted through the widget. Suggestions, votes, comments, and the survey shown on the board all belong to that app: it’s the same community in two places (widget and board).

The board has two tabs:

  • Suggestions (open by default) — a flat list of every suggestion, sortable by most voted or recent
  • Roadmap — the board organized into 4 columns:
    • Under review — new suggestions, visible as soon as they’re created
    • Planned — suggestions accepted and in the backlog
    • In progress — suggestions the team is currently working on
    • Done — suggestions already implemented

Both tabs show the same suggestions — only the layout changes.

Each card shows the title, vote count, and a button to vote. Clicking a card opens the suggestion’s page, with the full description, the team’s official response (when there is one), and comments. This page has its own shareable link, so a specific suggestion can be shared directly.

Dismissed suggestions or ones merged into another don’t appear on the board.

The board footer shows “powered by Pliic”, linking to the Pliic website.

If you’re already signed in to Pliic (for example, as the team owner or a member), the board recognizes your account automatically when you open the page — no email code needed. You can vote, comment, or suggest right away.

Visitors without an account don’t need to sign up. To interact, they just need to:

  1. Click Sign in to suggest on the board
  2. Enter their email
  3. Type the 6-digit code they receive by email

Once signed in, visitors can:

  • Create suggestions — they show up immediately under Under review
  • Vote — one vote per suggestion; clicking again removes the vote
  • Comment — on suggestions, from the detail page

On the “Suggest something new” form, besides the title and description, an emotion picker (😍/😐/😞) and a category picker may show up — both optional. They only appear if enabled in the app’s settings (General tab > “Suggestion form”) and, for the category, if the team has categories set up. These are the same fields as the widget’s suggestion form. See Creating an app.

Access stays saved in the browser for 30 days, so visitors don’t need to enter the code on every visit.

Suggestions submitted from the board reach the selected app like any other suggestion — they also show up in that same app’s widget — following the same moderation and status flow.

As long as no one else has engaged with your suggestion, it’s still yours: its detail page shows Edit and Delete options right below the title. Edit turns the title and description into text fields so you can adjust both at once. Delete removes the suggestion for good, once you confirm.

This holds until the first sign that someone else took an interest in the idea: someone votes on it, someone comments, the team posts an official response, or the status moves past “Under review”. From that point on, the suggestion becomes part of the community board, and only the product team can change or delete it. Your own vote on your own suggestion doesn’t count toward that limit, so voting on it won’t take away your editing options.

Deleting asks for confirmation, since there’s no trash and no way to recover a suggestion afterward. If your team’s plan has a monthly suggestion limit, deleting yours frees up a spot in that limit. The same rule applies to suggestions created from the widget.

  1. Go to Settings > General
  2. Enable the Enable public board toggle
  3. Choose the Board app — the app whose suggestions (and survey) will appear on the board
  4. Your team now has a public URL in the format {your-slug}.pliic.com

Only admins or the team owner can turn the board on or off, or change the selected app.

With the toggle off, the public URL returns a not-found page — even for someone who had a suggestion open there.

The board always needs an app to work:

  • No apps created yet — the toggle is disabled, with a link to create your first app
  • One app — it’s selected automatically when you enable the board
  • Two or more apps — choose which app powers the board in the Board app field

Changing the selected app changes everything shown on the board: it now shows the suggestions (and survey) of the new app, and suggestions submitted from the board from then on belong to that app.

Turning the board off doesn’t clear the choice — turning it back on reuses the same app, no need to pick it again.

If the app selected for the board is deleted, the board is turned off automatically. The app’s delete dialog warns you when the app is the source of the public board.

Since the URL uses your team’s slug (the same one set in Settings > General), changing the slug also changes the public board’s address and every suggestion’s link.
